Get to Know the Netspend® Small Business Prepaid Mastercard®

This prepaid card may be used only for business related transactions in connection with your business operations and will not be treated as a consumer prepaid card under state or federal law. This prepaid card may not be used for personal, family, or household purposes. This Account is not designated for personal use, we may close your Account if we determine that this is being used for personal purposes.

There is no fee to create a ProPay Merchant Account with the Netspend Small Business Prepaid MasterCard. Transaction fees are determined and assessed by ProPay; see www.propay.com/netspend for current rates assessed by ProPay. Services are subject to Terms of Use and other policies established by ProPay and may be denied or terminated at the discretion of ProPay. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OPENING A CARD ACCOUNT: To help the federal government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, the USA PATRIOT Act requires us to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens a Card Account. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU: When you open a Card Account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and your government ID number. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying information. Card activation and identity verification required before you can use the Card Account. If your identity is partially verified, full use of the Card Account will be restricted, but you may be able to use the Card Account for in-store purchase transactions.  Restrictions include:  no ATM withdrawals, international transactions, account-to-account transfers and additional loads. Use of Card Account also subject to fraud prevention restrictions at any time, with or without notice. The same identification verification requirements apply to each Authorized Representative and Subaccount Cardholder, if any are designated by you. In addition, we will also collect basic business information such as business name, purposes of business and business type to activate the card.

For Sole Proprietorships: Upon successful activation and ID verification, you may submit additional information about your business to access additional features or functionality. The business verification process is optional. For All Other Business Types: Upon successful activation and ID verification, we require additional information about the business; including, but not limited to, business address, business phone number, business website address, and Employer ID Number (EIN). This additional business information must be verified by us within thirty (30) days of activating the temporary Card in order for the Card Account to remain open. See the Cardholder Agreement for more information about the activation process. Residents of the State of Vermont are ineligible to open a Card Account.

There is a $3.95 fee for replacement or additional cards.

Eligible Primary Cardholders may request an additional Card for a Subaccount Cardholder: visit your Online Account Center for more information and to determine whether you are eligible to establish subaccounts. There is a $1.95 mostly subaccount fee for each subaccount card connected to the master account.

Just go to any of the 130,000 locations in the Netspend Reload Network and load the cash to your Small Business Account. Paid by check? You can use Mobile Check Load to take a couple of pictures of the check and load it to your Small Business Account through the Netspend Small Business Mobile App.* 

    Paid by card? Netspend has partnered with ProPay®[2] so you can swipe credit cards, debit cards, and prepaid cards using a small mobile phone accessory.The Netspend Small Business Prepaid Mastercard lets you accept payments and conduct business wherever you are.
  3. Print Your Small Business’ Name On Your Card When you’re serious about your small business, you want to show it.  Your card isn’t just any card, it’s your small business' card.  Suppliers and service providers know you’re the real deal when you present your card to them and they see your small business’ name printed right next to your name. Verify your business[3] with Netspend and request to have your small business’ name printed on your card,[4] and everyone you buy from will know you mean business.
  4. Employee Subaccounts[5] Maybe you have one person working for you or maybe you have more. They might work part time or they might work full time. But at some point, they’ll probably need to buy supplies, gas, food, or something else your small business may require.You can ask them to buy it with their own money and reimburse them later, but that’s not fair to the employee.  You can hand them cash, a check, or your card out of your wallet, but you take a risk trusting them with any of those.Instead, you can create a subaccount with your Netspend Small Business Prepaid Mastercard. Your employee will receive their own card where you control how much money is available on it. You can even limit the type of stores where they’re allowed to use it or sign up to receive a text message* every time the employee makes a transaction.Subaccounts let you stay in control while allowing your employees to make purchases everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted for your small business when needed.
